Never Thought I'd Do This...

So I filed for unemployment this week.  I think I'm gonna apply for the SBA disaster loan too since you can request up to $10k and don't have to pay it back due to COVID-19.  Never did I think I'd have to file for unemployment, but at least it is due to something that is 100% out of my control.

I am fortunate enough to not worry about paying house rent or a mortgage but I still have other bills to pay for.  It is week 3 of me being in quarantine and if I'm being honest, this week is so HARD!  I am running out of things to do and the stuff that I thought would keep me busy has gotten so boring.  The only thing that I still enjoy is cooking as I've made my favorite Filipino dish growing up yesterday, and I'm proud to say that I got it right on the first try!

My day consists of having a depressing 10-15 minutes of worrying about my business and the health of my family.  I feel like it will be so hard to find clients after this since people are so financially drained.  Usually, summertime is when business is booming the most, but it seems like this whole year will be a dud for my business.

I just have to keep reminding myself that this will all pass over and with hard work, I will get my business back up and booming again.

For now, I have offered a giveaway to keep in touch with clients and to keep their interest in me!

  1. Hello Alysia,
It is unfortunate that we are in a long-term lockdown and how so many people are being laid off from their jobs, including myself. I know how you feel about money not coming in but it is good to know that the government has our back by supporting the us financially. I know times are hard right now, but one of the things I do to keep busy is working out everyday. Before this lockdown took place, I was going to the gym almost everyday and when it closed I got super sad because it was my stress reliever and always took my mind off of things. But now I have found some at-home gym workout on youtube and it really helps me out. You should look into working out to ease your mind away from the COVID-19. Good luck!
